New Discoveries at the Vancouver Maker Faire
This weekend I decided to take a trip to the Vancouver Mini Maker Faire. I've always had a knack for building things using computer software, but building electronics and other physical things have always been an aspiration rather than an ability. I went expecting insight into the building of electronics and crafts, but didn't expect that there would be something for the software artist/nerd in me too. It was inspiring to see work some of the folks from VIVO Media Arts Centre. I feel like its going to become one of my new favourite haunts. I also got to solder something for the first time (a small LED badge thanks to Vancouver Hack Space). I'm going to start working on those kind of skills and can't wait to integrate them into my work in the future.
